Purpose:
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
- Responsibilities
- Identifying Suppliers: Researching and identifying potential suppliers who can meet the plant's requirements for quality, price, and delivery timelines
- Negotiating Contracts: Negotiating favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules aligned with our European Commodity Strategy
- Evaluating Bids: Analyzing bids from different suppliers and selecting the most suitable ones based on various factors
- Purchasing Materials: Placing orders for raw materials, components, equipment, and other necessary items
- Guarantee: delivery, PPI, OTD, PPM/NCR
- Participate in the elaboration of the purchasing budgets
- Optimize working capital needs, decrease the level of inventories, decrease the administrative cost (number of PO and invoices)
- Ensure Greenbrier Europe Management System compliancy
- Benchmark with other sites within the Greenbrier Organization
