Job Summary
Reporting to the European Sourcing Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective execution of purchasing operations for two manufacturing plants in Romania (Caracal and Severin), covering materials, components, and services. Your role will be fully aligned with sourcing strategies defined by the European Commodity Management team.

  • Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of 10 plant buyers and project purchasers, fostering accountability and operational excellence,
  • Coordinate day-to-day purchasing operations for both Caracal and Severin sites, ensuring timely material availability and supplier responsiveness,
  • Ensure accurate and effective execution of the purchasing budget, with responsibility for key performance indicators such as: PPI (Purchase Price Index), PPM (Parts Per Million), OTD (On-Time Delivery), LCC (Life Cycle Cost) etc,
  • Implement sourcing decisions in collaboration with European Commodity Managers and ensure compliance with group strategies,
  • Lead the purchasing strategy for local commodities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management,
  • Monitor supplier performance, quickly address delivery or quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including inventory level optimization and supply chain resilience.
  • Your profile:
  • University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field,
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a procurement function within a manufacturing or industrial environment,
  • Proven leadership skills, including managing purchasing teams and performance KPIs,
  • Strong track record in budget management, cost control, and inventory optimization,
  • Excellent negotiation skills and deep understanding of supplier management principles,
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and procurement analytics tools, Fluent in English and Romanian,
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Caracal and Severin sites.
