Job summary
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager Romania, you will take on the role of Direct Buyer at our manufacturing plant in Caracal. In this position, you will be responsible for executing procurement activities in line with centrally defined sourcing strategies. You will collaborate closely with European Commodity Managers, approved suppliers, and production planning teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of materials, components, and services required for wagon manufacturing.
- Key responsibilities
- Order Execution: Place and manage purchase orders for production materials and services in line with the production schedule.
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers nominated by Commodity Managers, ensuring adherence to contract terms, quality, and delivery performance.
- Local Procurement: Identify and negotiate with local suppliers (including NPR and CAPEX), always ensuring compliance with sourcing policies.
- Delivery Monitoring: Track supplier deliveries and resolve delays or non-conformities in cooperation with logistics and quality teams.
- Data Accuracy: Maintain accurate records in the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365), including purchase orders, pricing, lead times, and supplier data.
- Cost & Inventory Awareness: Support cost control efforts and contribute to the optimization of inventory levels and working capital.
- Your profile
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience as a Buyer in manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong negotiation skills and supplier management experience
- Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP)
- Fluent in English and Romanian, with excellent communication skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
